Parhelia is a free page that traces sunlight through ice crystals in your browser. It is published by PaintedApp, LLC, a company in Portland, Oregon. This page says what Parhelia learns about you, which is as close to nothing as a website can get, and where the few exceptions are.

What we collect

Nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts. The page makes no request to any other company's server: the fonts are served from the same address as the page, and the tracer runs on your own device. There is no form that sends anything anywhere.

Your photo

Compare a Photo reads the file you choose inside your browser and draws it under the traced arcs. It is never uploaded. Parhelia has no server code that could receive it, and the page's security policy forbids it from sending data to any address but its own. Remove the Photo, or closing the tab, releases it.

The settings in the link

The Sun's altitude, the crystal mix and the other controls are written into the address bar, so a link reopens the same sky. Nothing else is in the link. If you share it, you share those settings and nothing about yourself.

The offline copy

After one visit, your browser keeps a copy of the page's own files (its code, its fonts and its icons) so Parhelia opens without a connection. That copy holds no personal data. You can delete it from your browser's site settings at any time.

The host

Parhelia is served by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel processes the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, your browser's name and the time, to deliver the page and to protect it from abuse. Vercel handles that data under its own privacy policy. PaintedApp adds no analytics on top of it, and sells or shares nothing, because it holds nothing to sell.

Children

Parhelia collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, export or delete. If you think we hold something, write to us and we will check and answer.

Changes

If this changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the new text says what is different.
